Visual Music for the Modern Age

Darling Lucifer Productions is Artist Bonnie Aldcroft

Beginning in 2018 as a creative outlet, Bonnie was drawn to the practice of traditional analog liquid light shows—an art form rooted in the psychedelic concert visuals of the early 1960s, pioneered by groups such as the Joshua Light Show and the Brotherhood of Light.

Using overhead projectors and hand-manipulated materials such as glass plates, immiscible liquids, and colorful dyes, these early light shows emphasized warmth, imperfection, and experimentation. Bonnie’s work builds on this legacy by creating visuals through analog processes, then digitally capturing and adapting the material for contemporary use.

What began as a small, DIY setup has grown into a full collection of analog visual tools and a dedicated production studio. In addition to liquid light imagery, the project produces original video content using a hybrid analog–digital workflow, incorporating video synthesis, live mixing, software-based tools, and reprocessed video footage to create distinctive visual material.

Today, the work bridges analog craft and modern production, producing visual content suitable for live performance, festivals, music venues, galleries, film, and installation-based environments. Bonnie regularly collaborates with musicians, DJs, and artists, developing visuals that can be presented live, pre-rendered, or integrated into larger multimedia productions.

"Lucifer" is a Latin word meaning "light-bringer" or "light-bearer," originally used for the planet Venus (the morning star)
